BOFWA is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of young people in Botswana by providing youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services. Through advocacy, community mobilization, and evidence-based interventions, we empower youth to lead healthier, more informed lives.

Service Delivery
BOFWA’s Service Delivery spans six centers nationwide, offering comprehensive healthcare services, including family planning, HIV prevention and treatment, gynaecology, and counselling.
What We Do
Our Programmes
BOFWA offers youth-focused programmes that promote health, safety, and empowerment. These include a 24-Hour Helpline (16658), GBV prevention through the Petals Project, Dual Protection education, out-of-school sexuality education, economic empowerment, and mobile health services via the mHealth platform.

The 24-Hour Toll-Free Helpline is one of BOFWA’s most impactful interventions, designed to address the pressing need for accessible, confidential, and non-judgmental support for young people and vulnerable individuals across Botswana.
The Petals Project
The Petals Project is a transformative initiative aimed at addressing the pervasive issue of Gender- Based Violence (GBV) through a multifaceted approach that combines education, advocacy, and support.
Dual Protection
In Botswana, high rates of unplanned pregnancies and HIV/STI transmission remain significant public health concerns.
Comprehensive Sexuality Education
In Botswana, many young people outside the traditional school system lack access to formal SRH education, leaving them vulnerable to health risks such as unplanned pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Economic Strengthening
Recognizing the strong link between economic empowerment and improved health and social outcomes, BOFWA’s Economic Strengthening Program equips young people with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve financial independence.
mHealth
The M-Health Program is an innovative initiative designed to bridge gaps in healthcare access using mobile technology.
